STORY FROM A MOM
Last week, we shook, waved, and flapped multi-colored streamers while we danced to “Shake Those ‘Simmons Down.” Over the weekend, one mom hosted a grown-up birthday party and so had a few gift bags with tissue paper hanging around the house. Later on, when “Shake Those ‘Simmons Down” came on the CD player, the mom’s child grabbed the tissue paper out of one bag and shook the paper left, right, up, down and all around. The mom caught it all on video (thank goodness for smart phones) and brought it to class to share. I’ve never seen tissue paper bring so much joy!
The mom remarked that she hadn’t really thought of everyday things being used as musical objects until the tissue-paper-incident. Now, a whole world of music play possibilities has opened up. Fantastic!

I just love when Mom’s randomly sing the MT songs without their kids. It shows that Music Together is really for all ages not just birth to 7
